The pro-climate majority once again running Virginia\u2019s General Assembly rightly seized their best opportunity to repudiate Gov. Youngkin\u2019s unhinged and damaging attack on the 2020 centerpiece of Virginia\u2019s historic climate action: RGGI.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Climate leaders rightly included in their recently-passed budget bill a reversal of Youngkin\u2019s lawless attempt to remove Virginia, by executive fiat, from the climate-protecting Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI, pronounced \u201cReggie\u201d). By simply utilizing the tried-and-true democratic process that Youngkin attempted to upend with his attempt to undo Virginia\u2019s keystone climate law, it\u2019s fitting that the legislature gets the final word on RGGI.\u00a0<\/p>\n
