Developing geothermal energy:\u00a0<\/strong>This <\/span>geothermal bill<\/span> amends the state\u2019s \u201cobligation to serve\u201d for gas utilities to allow them to sell thermal energy instead of gas to customers.\u00a0<\/span>Thermal energy networks<\/span> use a network of ground-source heat pumps to heat water, which runs through pipes underground.
