Your gas and water bills are going up.The Metropolitan Utilities District Board voted on Wednesday to approve a budget that increases fees for both gas and water service and warned that plans for a downtown streetcar could drive rates even higher.Under the new budget plan, gas rates will increase by 3.3% with hikes to the gas rate commodity charge and a 50-cent-per-month increase in the Gas Infrastructure Rate fee.Water rates will increase an average of 4.7% for residential customers with increases to commodity charges and a 50-cent hike in the monthly Water Infrastructure Rate fee.MUD says the average residential customer will pay $26.13 more per year in gas based on usage of 761 therms.
